Current paradigms of ‘development’ often serve cellular pastoralist teams poorly: their visibility in coverage approaches is minimum, and their mobility is developed via the robust as a ‘problem’, instead of as a rational livelihood process. more and more broken eco-systems, shrinking ordinary assets, globalisation and urbanisation all placed strain on pastoralist livelihoods. Such tactics frequently aggravate, instead of alleviate, poverty and socio-economic marginalisation between pastoralists, yet in addition they precipitate engagement with types of schooling which may increase their destiny livelihood safety and social prestige, and increase occupational diversification.


Opening with a dialogue of ways the relationships among schooling, poverty and improvement were conceived in dominant improvement discourses, this publication experiences the disappointing overseas adventure of schooling provision to cellular pastoralist teams.
